Telehealth Services at Insights Psychology

Accessible mental counseling online and virtual psychiatrist services from the comfort of your home

What is Telehealth

Telehealth, or telepsychology, is a method of delivering mental health services virtually through audio/video sessions instead of meeting your provider in person. At Insights Psychology, we offer online counseling for children, teenagers, adults, couples, and  families. Our services include online couples therapy, virtual EMDR therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, and IFS therapy. We also provide online medication management appointments with a virtual psychiatrist.

Benefits of Telehealth

Telehealth is a convenient option for clients who are unable to travel to our clinic location. It allows you to schedule therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home, office, or even your car, provided you are parked in a safe space. This flexibility helps reduce stress from travel, childcare arrangements, or work schedule adjustments. It also increases access to quality mental health services for clients living in rural areas or further away from the city. If you are looking for online therapy that takes insurance, Insights Psychology has you covered.

Insurance Coverage

Most insurance providers offer full coverage for telehealth services, similar to in-person services. If you have questions about your coverage, it is best to contact your insurance provider to confirm the details. We will ensure that you can find an online psychiatrist that takes insurance at Insights Psychology.

Confidential and Secure Sessions

Medication Management Services - Talking with Psychiatrist of Insights psychology

Telehealth appointments at Insights Psychology are confidential and conducted using HIPAA-compliant platforms. Most of you are familiar with Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp video calls, or Skye. Your sessions will be held in a similar format; they are secure with end to end It is important to attend your session from a private space and use headphones to ensure privacy. Make sure your technology (cellphone, tablet, computer, or laptop) supports audio-visual sessions. A phone call alone is not considered a telehealth visit.

Technical Requirements

A good internet connection is essential for a smooth telehealth appointment. We recommend using Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox for the best results. To avoid connection issues, close other applications that might slow down your internet. Before your appointment, review the instructions in your appointment reminder email and use the provided link to join your provider’s online waiting room.

State Licensing Guidelines

State licensing guidelines require that clients be physically present in the state where their provider is licensed to practice psychology. If you plan to travel, inform your provider beforehand, as we cannot schedule telehealth appointments if you are out of state or overseas. Clients of Drs. Hina Siddiqui, Samantha Kallberg, and Mollie Newhouse can have telehealth sessions from a PsyPact approved state (see map at https://bit.ly/PsyPact, as these psychologists hold a PsyPact license.

Telehealth FAQ’s

What is telehealth? I want to know more about it.

Will Telehealth services be covered by my insurance?
Most insurance payers provide full coverage for telehealth services, just as in-person services. If you have any questions, best to contact your insurance provider to confirm coverage.
How do I prepare for my telehealth visit?
  • Please choose a private place.
  • Make sure your device (smartphone, laptop, desktop, or tablet) is set up and ready.
  • You would need a good internet connection for your telehealth visit.  For best results log on to your telehealth appointment using Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
  • Some applications may slow down your internet connection, and it is best to close those applications during your telehealth visit.

Can I see my provider for a telehealth visit while I am on vacation in another state or out of the country?
State licensing guidelines require clients to be physically present in the state where your provider is licensed. Unless your provider is licensed in the state where you will be going, you cannot see them for a telehealth visit. It is important to let your provider know prior to any travel plans if they can see you in another state.
Is a phone call the same as telehealth?
For a telehealth appointment, you and your provider should be able to have both audio and video in session. Most telehealth visits will include a video for the majority of the visit. A phone call is not a telehealth visit.
What are the benefits of a telehealth visit?
  • The main advantage of your telehealth appointment is the convenience of logging on to the appointment from the comfort of your own home,, office or car. Please ensure you are parked and not driving your car during your visit.
